Star Wars in Concert

Just saw the debut show in Anaheim. Guess what? THIS is the concert. The live orchestra basically just plays along with the videos on this DVD.

Ouch, George, very ouch.

Luckily I knew this before hand, so that I wasn't disappointed. And since I knew I had seen most of the videos before (some were new), I could focus more on the pieces I'd been waiting to hear live since I was a kid.

RIP J.F, F.W, M.F, S.R

You were great friends.

I saw the concert about a week ago and went back to the DVD to see if it was the same.

They extended the opening theme and played the opening/full ending theme. They put Anthony daniels introducing each section - changing some of the narrative for those pieces and added the podrace flag sequence where chapter 4 would be. Moved chapter 7 and made it chapter 5 and renamed it "droids". The videos for some sections are different with some dialogue now being said.

The intermission comes after the imperial theme - "An empire is forged".

There is a brief recap of music after the intermission. They moved "A narrow escape" up to just after the intermission, then the rest of the show is the same as the rest of the tracks left on the DVD.

After the final track, they do the imperial theme as an encore performance.
