is there an uncut version like The Wolverine?

Is the blu ray an uncut version like The Wolverine?

reply

No, it's exactly the same as the theatrical release. The special features are short and lacking also, especially when compared to the other X-men blurays. Though why would you want a longer version of this travesty anyway?!

reply

Thanks. Just wanted to know if it was an extended harder version like The Wolverine. What about the other X Films do he blu's have any other extended versions? (I know The Wolverine and DOFP do but what about the rest?)

reply

X-men 1 has an extended version, but it's not very well executed and the added scenes are jarring because the way they're integrated is rather poorly executed and a lot of the dialogue from these sequences ended up in parts of the movie that made the final cut, which makes them repetitive and redundant.

Apart from The Wolverine the only other film in the series to gain an extended version is the Days Of Future Past: Rogue Cut. The bluray also contains the theatrical version so you can choose which one to watch and it has a plethora of great special features. It's pretty cheap on amazon now, so I'd recommend it over the first bluray issue.

Incidentally, if you're a fan of special features/extras it's better to pick up the original trilogy or the Quadrilogy version as it has a bonus disc for each movie (bar Origins.) that showcases great documentaries, deleted scenes and everything else you'd want. Of course, if you just want a slimline boxset then the "Cerebro collection" is the way to go, as it contains all the movies, including both Wolverines.

I hope this was helpful and happy hunting!

Thanks. Recently ordered TW Extended and DOFP Rogue Cut so will check them out (notice The Wolverine is same 12 rating as the theatrical cut. So much for being 'unleashed')

Oh! You have to buy the 3D version of The Wolverine to get the directors cut! It plays in standard 2D so don't worry about that.

yeh that the one I ordered :)

Cool. Also, after checking my X-men 1 bluray the other night, it DOESN'T feature the extended cut, which was previously released on DVD as "X-men 1.5."

Though, like I said, it's not as good as the original cut and doesn't add anything essential, anyway. The deleted scenes are available on the special features disc though.

I hope you enjoy The Wolverine and DOFP:Rogue Cut!
