Am I the only one who can't stand Eva Green?

Nothing against her, at all, I just can't stand watching her in movies.

Totally agree. Green was the only reason I went to see the film.

same here !

Why? She's a fantastic actress. Sin City 2 are lucky to have her she's perfect for this type of role.

I think she's a good actress, but I think she wasn't right for this particular role. It called for more of a "sexy and sultry" type of actress. Someone more alluring that could make a convincing argument about dragging men into her web. She's none of that.

She comes across as rough around the edges. That's why I enjoyed her in 300: Rise of an Empire. That role was perfect for her. Attractive, but with more brutality than beauty.

And she's a wee bit odd-looking. They should've use someone else for this one.

If this had been made in the 50's, Lauren Bacall would have done it well.

No actress is.

Brolin & Meloni's characters were just plain pathetic. Note, I've nothing against them as actors or Green as an actress. I like them all and I always thought Green was good looking, but the characters of Dwight & Mort would've been just as pathetic if a more "attractive" actress played the role of Ava.

DISPLAY thy breasts, my Julia!

reply

you aren't the only one. Plenty of other ugly women jealous of her incredible looks.

reply

Well, I'll say she's attractive. Yeah, she looks good, but I dunno. Just don't really dig her acting.

I'll check out the show. Maybe, I might be blown away, for all I know. I'll check it out.

reply

You're not the only one. I don't know where all the stuff about her being a fantastic actress comes from. Every time she delivers a line I cringe. She's terrible. I also don't even find her that attractive. Probably because her voice makes me want to stab myself in the ears.

Who cares what comes back at you? It's subjective. Some people just don't like some actors.

reply

Eva Green isn't bad looking at all, but she's not that sexy either. Her look was more suited for Casino Royale, because she has that bookworm/accountant office type look. But if she's not playing the office book type, and trying to be a femme fatale, who can get many men, her look is just not right for that in my opinion.

I think she's a good actress, but I definitely agree on her voice. Like ice picks poking the insides of my ears...

*shudder*

I enjoyed her in this and her films, which is my humble opinion. Now I think Anne Hathaway is a terrible actress and a terrible person. The way she treats her fan's is horrible. Eva Green is very attractive to me , Anne looks like a dog.

reply

Penny Dreadful, is.
Until Episode Four when Green gets the whole thing to herself and brings the entire series to life. The show is a cheap knockoff of League of ExtraOrdinary Gentlemen (the comics, not the movie) (which itself is a knockoff) and is nothing outstanding until Green puts her acting chops to good use. Her episode (and, off the top of my head, I think it is episode 4) in which she is possessed is a tour de force. It made this show.

reply

'a series built just to showcase her acting in many respects'

What a load of crap. Coming from a clear Eva Green-obsessed celebrity worshipper.

I'm in agreement with the OP. I just don't get it, looks or acting wise.

doctorc1970: "I'm in agreement with the OP. I just don't get it, looks or acting wise."

Me too.

Between Eva Green and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, I feel like Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014) is loaded with actors that are being pushed hard but that I don't find exciting to watch.

Also, Mickey Rourke looks terrible and Ray Liotta doesn't look good.

And Jessica Alba is heavily reliant on her looks (which is no crime, as everybody has got to rely on something), and therefore it would have been better to film a sequel without a needless delay of years.

Starting with Eva Green, this is not an exciting cast, despite the famous names.

Calling disagreement hate is childish.

I think the cast is pretty great.

I would rather have this cast than any other actors in Hollywood right now.

It's ok, i'm a limo driver!

She was ranked #16 on Maxim's hot list 2006, get it now?

Eva green is mainly just good eye candy for the guys, she's *beep* gorgeous and she has some nice tits as well lol

reply

I don't find her that attractive. She's above average for sure but nothing special.

reply

She's above average and you still don't find her attractive? Where on the curve are you chumming?

reply

I don't find her "THAT" attractive. That's not to say I'm not attracted to her at all. Oh and I fish at the upper 30%.
She's there at the lower end and I wouldn't turn her down but she doesn't really do it for me.

reply

nope nothing against her or her acting, also liked her in casino royale.

reply

The way she acts is cheesy and over the top. The good thing is that she never hesitates to show us her breasts.

reply

One thing I will say is that all of her performances are pretty much EXACTLY THE SAME (and I include 'Penny Dreadful' in that). I enjoyed her performance in Casino Royale, but since then I've realised that that's the only kind of performance she can really do...

reply

I'm there with you OP. I can't put my finger on it, but for some reason I really just don't care for her. I feel like maybe I just kind of see her as the go-to actress when a movie needs a seductive villain and they can't get someone more well-known, like she's perpetually the second or cheaper choice. I could certainly be wrong about that but that's just how I see her.

reply

I mean, it boils down to personal taste. There's no definitely good or definitely bad. I can see you're a big fan, and I respect that, but personally I just don't think of her so highly. That said, she's not terrible by any means and is certainly a better option than most, but in a way I think I'm just kind of sick of her lol.
