30 Million Dollar Budget

Sweet Im excited, his highest budget since Legionnaire

reply

This could go to theaters possibly.I wonder what Van Damme is getting? At least 4-5 million I bet.

reply

very good but i bet jvcd is getting nothing paid of this budget and his salary goes into production to have a bigger movie for a comeback.

lol, no he didnt. Whoever told you he signed a 3 picture deal for 20 million is lying. Try more like 2 million.

reply

I think van damme is slowly coming back now..with second in command and a part in Asterix 3. VAN DAMME IS BACK!!

reply

He was supposed to be paid 10 million for 3 films for Bauer/Martinez.WoD was the only one.And after that he pulled out of the Deal.Average of 3.3 million.

reply

I don't understand why movies has to have "this and that" budget to be shown in cinemas nowadays.
Bloodsport was made with a 1.5 million dollar budget and it went to theaters.
Is this because movies cost more now or is it about what's popular.

reply

they dont, but people think that if a company is going to invest a lot of money they will only make the money back by releasing it in theaters. Fact is, it would cost another 30 million to put it on the big screen and advertise it. I dont think MPCA has that kind of money to throw around.

reply

yes that is right but i would be happy if second in command will get a "limited" us theaters release that cost not much money but would really help the movie earning more money in rentals and shop selling later. a big theaters release worldwide wouldn´t help the movie. cool for the fans but bad for jcvd.

reply

I don't understand why that guy of a segal gets a theatrical release and van damme not. That's not fair, van damme is by far a better actor.

reply

What Seagal theatrical release are you talking about? He hasnt had a movie since Half Past Dead.

reply

Does anyone know the budget for 7 seconds?

reply

30 million dollars, but not american dollars ha ha ha ha!!

What was the budget of "universal soldier:the return"

Too low to bother counting, too high to pay anyone for the bad acting, too mediocre for anyone to ever get excited over, too redundant to make a difference at the box office, too odorous to have a proper burial as a flop, too macho to be real, and too "done before" for many prople to really make an effort to watch it. This news is brought to you with the compliments and courtesy of me (the Duke of Dorkville, as it seems to have turned out), all the overweight fans fooled by such antics, and a dumb blond who doesn't know it.

If France and Belgium are small to you...

Some people just can't be pleased. I would be happy if SiC gets a cinema release all across Europe and Asia. Don't really care about the US. Look at Jackie Chan, he keeps making movies in Asia and enjoys an ENORMOUS success from movies people in the rest of the world don't even get to see.

And while I think that 30 million USD is quite a HUGE number, I still believe that there is a chance of this movie having that large a budget. The Steven Seagal recent movie Into The Sun had a budget of 35 million USD, confirmed by IMDB and other sites. And that was meant for cinema release initially, only some time during production did it change for the DTV route.

While I do think it unlikely that SiC will hit theaters in the US, I do hope it will get a cinema release ALL OVER Europe and Asia, although this might be more of a dream than a fact of reality.

JCVD may make a comeback in the movie Asterix & Obelix 3, even if he will only have a small part. That movie will definitely hit theaters all over Europe and especially in France where JCVD still has a pretty large fan-base. Let's hope the deal of him playing a Roman athlete does not fall through.

Remember one thing, Wake of Death was a pretty big hit the Arabian countries where it got a cinema release.

There are OTHER markets than the US you know.

reply

yes you are right, vd´s last movies (in hell, the order, derailed, replicant and wake of death) were always in the cinema in france, italy, saudi arabia, israel, spain and japan.

but you are wrong the planned 35 million usd budget was taken away to 15 million usd budget in the pre-production period where the studio decided to make a dtv instead. they were right in my opinion. i didn´t like into the sun even with more budget, i think it won´t helped the movie that much.

asterix 3 is good for him, here in germany now van damme is again big in the cinema, burger king, movie & dvd magazines and press with this asterix news. it was never there so much since 1999 and in press with kumite he is now, too in my country but all projects should happen. i hpe that for him, the people seems to be interest in these 2 projects.

IN MY OPINION JEAN CLAUDE VAN DAMME NEEDS
A VERY PROFESSIONAL MARKETING CONSULTANT
IF HE GETS THE PERFECT PUBLICITY OF HIS
UP COMING FILMS THERE IS NO DOUBT HE CAN BE BACK IN THE MATCH.

into the sun was first a 35 million budget movie for a big us cinema release but suddenly the studio sony pictures turned it down for a dtv release and took more than half of the budget away. the movie had a budget about 15 million usd and it looks like that. some cool fights scenes (but too short) and locations but in all in all a bit boring action movie with bad and bored acting by steven seagal. for dtv maybe a -ok- movie but not a real good one like van damme´s in hell or wake of death were.

well, second in command will be a very successful dtv release in the us and has a very good chance to get a "limited" us theaters release after the good critics and massive rental success of in hell and wake of death but for a big us cinema release there is definitely no chance but i would be satiesfied if sic would get a limited us cinema relaese. this is definitly possible and vd would deserve it now. we´ll see next year.
