If it's not enough that this piece of crap is full of complete fabrications about the Catholic Church that could only have been cooked up by the Ku Klux Klan, there are so many historical inaccuracies that a student of 9th-grade World History could detect. However, the part about the Pope being elected by popular vote?! Were the writers sleeping under a rock after Pope John Paul II died in 2004 and the new Pope was chosen by a secret election held by the College of Cardinals?! That's the way it's been done for 2,000 years, folks. If you're going to write a movie that's out to bash the Catholic Church, you can at least check your facts first.

Oh dear...perhaps you should check YOUR facts. There was no fixed process for papal selection before 1059, when the College of Cardinals was appointed as the sole body of electors. Prior to this, the Bishop of Rome was chosen largely by the consensus of the clergy and laity of the diocese. So the papal election scene was perhaps not quite as far-fetched as you seem to think.

Sorry to be replying to a two-year-old post, but name-calling is just so childish.
