yeah, ur joke made me think that maybe what makes this film unlikable for so many on this board, is the all "redemption of a paedo" arc, (& not the "light-vibe on a dark subject like suicide", or "the bad adaptation of a great book" or the overall cheesyness), i barely noticed it watching tho, cuz all the rest was so likable imho.
but when u think about these bbc scandals recently, yea it may be quite inappropriate...
Girls these days glam themselves up to such an extent that a 15yr old genuinely could look 25yrs old. Yes he did something wrong but at no point during the film did I look at him as a pedophile
