wish they didn't go for the hollywood ending, also reporter storyline?

I felt the book was better. I don't read a lot of books.

I thought the reporter storyline was kind of interesting (in the book, JJ sleeps with someone, but it's not a reporter) but I wish she had a chance to explain herself.

Also, why are all Hollywood plots about getting their characters together? I wouldnt have minded if JJ or Jess got w/different people.

I think the movie better handled Maureen's son.

What did the reporter have to explain? She nearly ran away when he outed her as a reporter. She just wanted a story about the topper 4 and she got it.

Thank you I agree with your comment. Hollywood knows how to ruin the story from a good book.

I didn't read the books.
But let say the movie didn't end with JJ and Jess. But they stilled had thst Skype meeting. Would it have been a good movie? Yea. Would I have watched it again in the future for memories or with friends? No.

With them getting together it fit thier characters within the movie as I saw it. And it left off with a hopeful feeling at the end. That would make me consider it as a rewatch.
Just my take on why they might have chose this ending.

Again I don't know how it went in books.
Most of the time I'm sort of a purist with books but not with comedy drama books. Manly with comics, manga, and fantasy sci fi and other non fictions.

It's not a Hollywood movie for Christ's sake, it's a British film!
