How the heck is such good acting possible??? (Mattie)

Josef Altin played Mattie, a disabled young guy.

I've see a lot of acting, good and bad. But I could've sworn this guy was really disabled.
It wasn't until I checked imdb that I realized he was just acting. Incredible!!!!

I hope to see more of him.

Wow, I'm literally shocked that this guy was just acting! He did a brilliant job - sure convinced me. I didn't even give it a second thought until I read your post. Wow.

I'm surprised to read this. Indeed, he was so believable. Who took care of him when she left for the vacation?

I believe the doctor at the hospital took him for observation, since he took care of Mattie's swimming therapy and stuff anyway, and he thought Maureen needed a vacation.

I haven't seen this yet, but plan to watch it.

If you are impressed with that, check out "Ocean Heaven" with Jet Li. It's not an action movie, but the actor playing his autistic son is phenomenal. I really enjoyed it.

As soon as Matties face was on screen I recognised him from 'Misfits' so as he kept appearing I went to check IMDB... as I continued watching the movie I was amazed at how good a job he did (I've worked with special needs kids BTW).
Congratulations to Josef Altin, you did a stellar job!
