I'm very confused???????

Ok from what I can work out is this game set after the first evil dead movie and is it ignoring ED2, Army of darkness and the two games? It just seems to be a little light on explanations.

reply

... did you happen to notice he had a chainsaw filling in where his right hand should be? I dont recall that in ED...
plus its a video game. its sole purpose is to tap in to the huge Bruce/AOD/ED following and dangle more treats in front of the droves of fan-boys <me being one>.
It was not intended to give explanations. When you are given the chance to roll through town wacking zombies with a chainsaw, do you really even care about expanations at that point?

reply

Nope not rely but heck guess I'm just wanting an evil dead 4 to badly.

reply

hmm I dunno, I did assume it was set after Army of darkness, I mean Ash never spoke about boomsticks or was half a wise assed in the first two films. Plus I never played Hail to the King or Fistful of Boomstick.

Mind you it's hard enough making sence of the films lol, thats what makes them so fun.

reply

I think it take place in an alternate storyline where after Evil Dead 2 there was no portal and Bruce was arrested.

I think your right there. But then again look at thee end of Evil dead 1,2 and 3. None of them make any sense to each other so I guess we're left to make up our own minds on this.

[spoiler alert for FFBS]

What is a shame is at the end of Fistfull of boomstick Ash is seen in Japan talking to samuri type guys. It would of been cool to see a game with Ash in feudal Japan, Kinda like a re-telling of Army of darkness but with a diffrent setting.

reply

Ok wait my friend has just came up with an idea that works for me.

Right all the evil deads happend and the other two games but at the end of FFOBS we see Ash in Japan....Maybe, just maybe he gets back to his own time just after the event's of Evil dead II (or before like in the comic) And thats when he's arrested for the murders... Or it's just bad story telling, Maybe George Lucas had something to do with the games story?

reply

It's set in and after Evil Dead 2. In this game the Dr's daughter, her friend, and the two rednecks never came. The evil was never forced to manifest in the flesh and was never sent back to where it originated.

The events in this game take place in between Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness. At the end od ED2, Ash gets sucked into the portal into 1300 AD, and him being sucked in in the game leads him to the past. That's what I'm assuming.

reply

Maybe its set after the alternate ending for AOD, AOD was the only movie that mentioned S Mart so it would makes sens for Fistful of Boomstick and sadly i havent played Hail to the King.

"Do you have a reservation?" "Do I look like a freakin' Indian?" Lil' Marie & Paulie - Rocky Balboa

After reading the comic book Shop till you drop dead it could be set at any point as Ash is sent all over the place due to the Necronomicon. Due to all the time-hoping the doors are open to infinite possibilities as to the order of Ash's adventures. Hell he fought the Marvel Zombies!

reply

From what I could tell its based LOOSELY after the events of AOD when Ash is back in his own time. Something happens that lands him in a mental institution. We arent told so its up to anyones guess

Majority of the people commenting here are wrong.

Basically, Evil Dead: Regeneration is a "what-if?" game.

It takes place after Evil Dead II and shows what might have happened if Ash was never sucked into the portal that took him back to 1300 A.D.
