So when do you think this one takes place? It doesn't really fit in with the first two games. To me it makes most sense after ARMY OF DARKNESS and before HAIL TO THE KING...

It's an alternate timeline that picks up from Evil Dead II, except isntead of being thrown back in time Ash is found and arrested. AoD doesn't exist in this world.

It doesn't fit in with the first two games because it doesn't take place after them.

This game is a hypothetical What-If? scenario. It shows what might have happened if Ash was never sucked into that portal and sent back in time to 1300 A.D.

Basically, it's an alternate timeline where Army of Darkness and the other two games never happened.
