What if Steve Rogers WAS accepted into the Military?
Would someone else get the Super Soldier treatment and therefore, become the first superhero in the MCU?

shareRogers would have been made a supply officer, helping make sure the US troops were well equipped and well fed.
And Hodge would have become Captain America, and because he was a bully he would have kicked Nazi butt for a few years, then gone rogue and turned into a villain whom SHIELD would have had to try to stop.
That would be an interesting MEU/alternate history film.
shareSomebody else probably would have received the treatment, but likely not become a true superhero. The point of the film is that Steve Rogers was always a hero and that it isn't about muscles, it's about principles and the courage to stand for them.
shareNo, he is a superhero because of the serum injected inside him. Lots of people have principles and courage but they are not superheros
shareI know what you mean, but the distinction I'm drawing is that he's "super" because of the serum, but Steve is a *hero* because of his character qualities. Lots of people have power without being heroes.
shareThis film is a work of fiction so this topic never came up before anywhere
