They really didn't though. Not at all. At least to people who don't constantly view all female interaction & friendship in fiction through lesbian goggles. That idea would only apply to a specific subset on the internet who aggressively project potential lesbianism into virtually every female friendship depicted in fiction, often putting pressure on writers to "humor" their lesbian obsessed head canon. So while it's never a shock to me when writers go there, there is no reasonable basis to jump to that assumption yet. share
