Have they stopped Dirty Jobs? I watch Discovery quite a bit and I see nothin but Deadliest Catch, Mythbusters, and Timewarp commercials and nary a mention of even reruns of Dirty Jobs... I know there was a new season this year but there hasnt been a new episode in months. Wassup?
I was noticing the same thing (that they're not showing as many reruns of DJ as they used to...they usually show 2 in the morning from 9-11 on Saturdays, and 1 at noon on Sundays, but that's it. They had moved reruns from Tuesdays to Mondays to Thursdays (most recent), but now only a few episodes on the weekends. I really hope they're not cancelling DJ. It's my favorite show on TV! At the end of this last season, Mike Rowe had faked us out & made us think that the season finale was the last show, but then he came back and said he was kidding, so I really hope that all they're doing right now is filming new episodes and letting a couple of new shows fill the void til its return!?! :)
Found this post on the Discovery message board, posted by Mike himself, on why he isn't hosting "After the Catch" this season, and more DJ to come!!! :)
mikerowe Senior Member Posted 06-11-09 02:30 AM Hide Post Nothing more than a scheduling problem. The Captains and I are still pals, and I wish I was in San Diego right now, hanging out and having a few laughs. Hopefully, Ben will have as much fun as I've had with the boys, and I wish 'em all well. Ironically, part of the conflict comes from having to narrate the show itself, which is currently in full production mode. As is Dirty Jobs, and a few other responsibilities that I can't seem to shake.
The last real episode they aired was back on February 17th. 200 jobs look-back was just mostly archive footage, mike's day off Mike wasn't even in, and the Alaska ep was filmed during the season and delayed for Alaska week.
So... almost 8 full months. Which is surprising. But hey, better late than never! Hopefully we'll get a good heaping.
No, the last episode aired on April 12th. Dog Sled Breeder. The show doesn't have a set number of episodes per season. It varies, as does the production time. A show with 2 jobs takes twice the shooting a production time, for example. All factors in to how long there is between season.
I've noticed over the years that Discovery sometimes alters its rerun scheduling. Every so often, it seems like they suppress reruns of one show to make room for reruns of a newer show. Maybe it's for ratings, to attract people to newer shows, or maybe just for variety. Who knows why programmers do anything they do, anyway? ------------------------------ Currently watching: Dirty Jobs - Coal Miner ------------------------------

i've been watching him on the Animal Planet. they are all dirty jobs regarding animals. they seem to be new. if they were just grabbing animals videos from his old show, then i don't remember this many animal ones.
