How much do they pay this guy?

SERIOUSLY?

reply

Are you talking about Mike? I doubt it's as much as you think it is. Plus, you have to factor in all the shows that he does voice-over, for example Deadliest Catch. Honestly, I don't think they pay him enough. You sure as hell couldn't pay me enough to do the kinds of things he's done.

Then again....times is hard and gas ain't cheap.

Not enough, but I would love to have a chance to have his job.

Kaylee, get the kid having a dirt nap with jesus. We're gonna need a hood ornament.

He's the executive producer of the show, the way he'd get paid is different than getting paid per episode. Discovery pays him a certain amount of money per episode for the show. He gets anything that's left over after all the expenses for the show are paid for.

I'm not an actor. I just play one on TV.

They couldnt pay you enough money? You guys have to realize that the jobs he does are actual jobs people do. No one showed on the show who actually do the jobs probably get paid even $40/hour so why should he be paid a huge amount for it?

While some of the jobs are gross (and in some cases, involve getting in REALLY small spaces), some seem REALLY fun.

I've been watching old dirty jobs eps to see what my career might be. Some of those jobs just look sooooo fun.

figures 'cause all look so fun!

Forget hoof-and-mouth disease, I'm gonna get poo-in-mouth disease. Mike Rowe

reply

Forget about how much he gets paid... think about he insurance, it must be insane on that show!!!

reply

Yes exactly "Dork" (I feel bad calling you that!)

Some jobs might only get $40 a day!

I'll search every day for a glimpse of that fortunate smile...

Those people do not command much value on the open market. This is not true for Mike.

It is like saying why are prisoners delighted with privileges in prison that would be the norm in outside life. Because they are *beep* prisoners.

hell i would love to do a show my self , hell they dont even have to pay me i would do it for free

hear that mike , i want to do you job just once please

Also, Mike makes money on the side as a commercial pitchman for Ford and the blue jean company, which I would imagine pay decently. I saw a poll a couple months back that said Mike Rowe was one of the ten most trusted people on television. He seems like an honest and sincere guy who's a lot of fun to be around and plays the everyman role well and the audience identifies with that; who wouldn't work to work with somebody like him?

reply

He makes between 300k-500k year including endorsements.
