Let's talk about the Series Finale

This was pitch perfect. I especially loved the musical number to the point that I have watched it four times just to see who all I missed. What do you all think?

reply

Loved it!

I figured they'd do something, but I had no idea what, and as that unfolded, I was just in awe.

I just can't believe it's over. 

reply

I loved that it ended with him jumping back over to Jon. And the statement, "Thanks for that report, Steven."

It was just perfect.

reply

I loved the final Charlene reference as well.

If she thought Stephen was bad as a stalker, just imagine what an immortal Stephen could do.

reply

I think you're right, perfect, and not unlike the thousands of other bits & interviews of his that should be in broadcast history, with maybe a handful of totally subjective klinkers at most over 9 years!

Congrats Stephen

reply

It was a big episode of the daily show with colbert starting directly from the segway(great decision to bring that back btw)the "end" of the daily show had no moment of zen and no credits and the end of colbert went back to jon. Perhaps the Colbert Report never really existed and it was all a report by Colbert on what things would be like if he had his own show.

reply

The killing of Grimmy and the hammy acting were the only weak spots in an otherwise near-perfect finale.

Stone Phillips must also be immortal because he hasn't aged in 9 years!

Listen, do you smell something? -Ray Stantz

reply

Me too, I loved it. This was going to be hard, but they did themselves proud - as always.

And, thanks for the explanation of what happened with the no "moment of zen". Can anyone list all the guests who showed up?

I can't believe it's all over. I hope Comedy Central keeps it available forever.

reply

I loved the ending. Pretty much the best way it could have gone. I wasn't expecting that musical number.

So many people, I think it is awesome that they all showed up for that. I loved the show.

Farewell, Stephen.

reply

The guests I recognized were Jon Stuart, Randy Newman, Big Bird, Michael Stipe, Henry Kissinger, Katie Couric, Mandy Potemkin, Allen Alda, Jeff Daniels, Keith Olbermann, Willie Nelson, Gloria Steinem, Ken Burns, Kareem Abdul Jabar, Cookie Monster, Smaug, Barry Manilow, Patrick Stewart, Ariana Huffington, Bill Clinton, Peter Jackson.

Who did I miss? Some were familiar but I couldn't place them, and a lot I don't know.

reply

Bryan Cranston, Terry Gross, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Tom Brokaw, Sam Waterston, Andrew Sullivan, Bill DiBlasio, Christiane Amanpour, Cyndi Lauper, Doris Kearns Goodwin, Norm Ornstein, Kevin Spacey, Vince Gilligan, Corey Booker, Eliot Spitzer, Paul Krugman, Ric Ocasek, Charlie Rose, Grover Norquist.

reply

It was ok right until they showed that war criminal Kissinger. Shame.

reply

James Franco, George Lucas, J.J. Abrams, Tim Meadows(P.K. Winsome), Bob Costas, Toby Keith, Ray Odierno, Trevor Potter.

reply

Yeah, I was hoping the rest of the crowd would stop singing and pile on Kissinger. I can't believe that most of those present would have enjoyed the prospect of sharing a stage with him.

I'll never understand why The Colbert Report was always so friendly towards Kissinger as a guest? All you have to do is Google the Chilean coup...

reply

Mike Huckabee was there singing too, I was like wtf is he doing there?!?

Excellent, many (with exceptions) media, political, entertainment douche bags in one place on one stage. Wow, just incredible. Great show will be missed.
