It's painfull knowing that at the end of The Daily Show we no longer have The Colbert Report to keep the excellent humor going. @Midnight is a dreadful replacement for that time slot and reeks of desperation with its screaming host and generally 'un-funny' guests. I sound more bitter than I am, but waaaaah, I miss Stephen and his 'truthiness' :-(

The Nightly Show will be fine. I like Wilmore, but watching the premiere made me miss TCR that much more. I will try not to expect too much from The Late Show in an attempt to lessen my disappointment. Not because Colbert won't do a good job, but because it's late night network TV which is so stale and rote. Hopefully he can turn things on their head like he did on TCR.
Just as I still miss Even Stepvhen I will miss Formidable Opponent, Cheating Death, Tip/Wag, Difference Makers, Better Know a District, Esteban Colberto, Attack on Christmas/Easter and all of the other great pieces that not only humoured, but informed, revealed and skewered all of the miscreants and blowhards in our society. I just don't see anything similar happening on The Late Show.
Prove me wrong Mr. Colbert. Please.
