It's really horrifying to watch the gorgeous Kate hook up with J Black

What the World is coming to? Geez. I can't believe that sorry excuse for director chose that short fat moron Jack Black to be Kate's guy in the movie!! Really appaling and gross. Why the hell she accepted that role? To the hell with the money, she should have turned it down.

What a superficial statement.. my God! He is a total sweetheart in the movie, funny and honest and charming, too. Not at all like the rascal she had a thing for at first. Looks aren't everything, you know. (not that he is ugly) I'd even call him cute in a way. There's something sweet about him.

And for crying out loud; obviously actresses do not accept roles just so they can have a steamy sex scene with some hot guy! That isn't what acting is about, you know. Thank God........ *rolls eyes* "What is the world coming to?" tssss. The answer is you, apparently..

I carry your heart; I carry it in my heart.

It's just a movie. They were great together in my opinion. Despite how anyone looks!

I think he's adorable!! No, he's not Jude Law, but he isn't ugly either!

What the hell man? Is it really disgusting to see someone kiss someone even if they aren't as good looking? I think its bloody brilliant that the film makers are starting to move away from the stereotype of the perfect man. It sets unrealistic expectations.
If you want a world where only good looking people get to be with other good looking people, gtfo.

The op sounds like the high school bully picking on all the nerds, What kind of statement is that, I hope you are a teenager because that's what you sound like.

I think Jack Black cleans up really well. Dress and coiff him like a romantic lead and he does it well.
We just don't see him in that role as much as we could. He tends to play the scruffy, slightly crazy and even kind of gross guy.

No way man! Jack is hot in this movie. It was refreshing to see a normal-looking, sweet guy in a romantic comedy. I have crushed on him for years!

Taking back IMDB message boards....one ignored Troll at a time.

Actually I considered JB to be a rather lowlife (based strictly on the types of roles he takes). But he sure blew me away with this endeavor! Not too many women can or will object to funny, smart, completely committed and certainly not ugly men!

I wonder if the OP actually saw the movie - I had reservations, never imagined Jack Black could be so cute/funny/sexy/NICE, and yes, he cleaned up really well!

For what it's worth, I liked the Winslet/Black character pairing better than Diaz/Law--mostly for petty, selfish reasons (wanting Law for myself). Amanda was whiny and annoying, IMO. Apart from her appreciating his daughters, I don't get why Graham fell for her. I would think after a while he would get tired of her.

Iris and Miles related to most people, and I think that's why many people appreciated them.
