I love this movie, a Christmas tradition to watch, but...

so many "suspension of belief" aspects.

one in particular is Cameron has two suitcases yet has about three or four large heavy coats that would fill up more that that. So where did all those other designer clothes come packed in.

Another is a full Hollywood tribute organized in less than the two weeks over the holidays.

Feel free to add your own.

Re: Cameron's Magic Suitcase: being from California, she wouldn't have cold-weather gear.
So either she spent an evening in cathartic online retail therapy & had everything shipped to the UK, or had a personal shopper/stylist put together & ship a vacation wardrobe .

(The very rich ARE different)

Yes, they are different - an entirely different world from us regular folk.

As for the tribute the OP mentioned, I wondered about that but then I remembered that Arthur said they'd been asking him for quite a while. That made me think that maybe they had a plan already in place - all they had to do was execute it once they got a yes from him.

reply

I think the tribute to Arthur would have taken place whether or not he attended.

reply

Probably, but it would have been a letdown, unless they waited until after he died to do it.

reply

Maybe that’s the wardrobe she wears to the Vail Film Festival.

reply

There's no way she's going to traipse through the snow, dragging her suitcases, wearing those spiky heels, either. She'd have been on her keister every other minute.

reply

Totally! I was out in Dansko clogs yesterday and could barely keep my balance!

reply

Actually I read that Cameron was exhausted after/during the running scene. The director demanded retake after retake until she collapsed.

reply

I thought it was a little much but not as much as he was introduced 5 seconds after he entered the building and everyone was prepared for him. Was the only purpose of the show for him? Wouldn't they have introductions or some sort of program? Was everyone just waiting patiently?

reply

Yes, the purpose of the show was to honor Arthur, whom Iris escorted as his plus1. Yer just a bit remembering wrong: t'was Jack Black who scooted in 5 seconds before Arthur's triumphant walk up the stairs.
