Who stole the umbrella? Nandu, or the teacher guy...?

If you think rain is depressing, then you've obviously never danced in it before....
We never see the umbrella actually being stolen - she just leaves it on the hillside, and when she returns 2 minutes later it's missing.
However, Nandu did steal it - when she's closing his "red" umbrella for him she spots that there are a few telltale blue threads underneath the canopy. This sends her on a detective hunt, where she finds out from the postmaster and the local dyer that Nandu's "red umbrella from Delhi" is just her original blue umbrella re-dyed.
