Maybe I missed the explanation...but why did they nuke the Arctic?
And with all the hub-bub in this movie about global warming, and an affect of such is the ice caps melting...why did they hit them with 5 nuclear missiles?
They nuked the arctic, because doing so would evaporate the ice into the atmosphere and extinguish the fire in the sky. That's their plan to save the world... or to save a poorly written script. Lame either way, but still illustrated in the movie.
