So noTORIous Vs. Absolutely Fabulous

First of all, let me just say that I love So noTORIous - I definately have a new found respect for Ms. Tori Spelling. Anyway, this show reminds me of Absolutely Fabulous. I'm not exactly sure why...perhaps it is that both shows poke fun at the institutions that make them possible - hollywood (or in AbFAB's case BBC) and fashion. Also, both shows have a very self deprecative feel. Believe it or not, I think Tori's show actually caries some sort of a message. Plus - both shows are hillarious. What do you guys think? Any other similarities?

for some reason, whenever Tori flashes back, it always reminds me of Abfab

Yes! That is definately on of the big ones. Edina has had several flashbacks about her mother and how her mother has influenced her life and or problems...hmm! lol. I guess that is a pretty common theme though. And besides ,we need an American AB FAB - this is the closest we'll get!

Two of my favorite shows ever and Tori, Janey, Kiki and definitely Sasan somewhat remind me of Edina and Patsy. They're my heroes.

I disagree. I think it's a lot like AbFab. It's just the fact that AbFab is completely English and SoNoT is completely American that you have that opinion. Take it from someone watching both simultaneously to see the similarities and contrasts. It's just that there aren't any Saffy's, Justin's, Oliver's, or Serge's anywhere in SoNoT. That's all, really. And not much traveling.

perhaps-abfab was cool and edina and saffy kinda had a similar r/ship to tori and kiki but obviously due to the latter being wealthy, different issues.

I love British comedy. When I first saw this show, it immediately reminded me of the best in British humor.

Most of the laughs were in the dialogue and it wasn't always overt, but witty and subtle.

For the life of me, I have no idea why it was cancelled. It was, perhaps, the funniest American show I'd seen in years. It will always be a classic to me.
