I always figured they based Janey on Susan (the red head in Tori & Dean) but rewatching the first episode Tori says they've known each other since high school and I think Tori mentioned they hadn't know each other that long (she said she's known Jenny the blonde real estate that long). So it's not based on Susan?

I think you mean Suzanne, not Susan. And to answer your question, Janey is based on Jenny, the blonde real estate agent on Tori & Dean. Tori has known both Jenny and Mehran (who is Sasan in the show) since high school.
Tori didn't even meet Suzanne until she married Charlie. Suzanne was Charlie's friend but when they got divorced Suzanne sided with Tori. This is why they are such good friends now and why Tori says in sTORI Telling that she "won Suzanne" in the divorce.

I knew Mehran was Sasan, I mean they look alike, but Jenny seems so nice compared to Janey. She doesn't seem at all like that character.
