What was the time period?
Was this suppose to take place in the late '70s?The clothes,TVs,hairstyles and cars(all were pre 1980).Or was this like Nap.Dynomite present just behind the times town/people??

yes it was meant to be set in the mid to late 70's in Oaxaca, Mexico. the movie is based on a true story which took place during the 70's, but in real life the parish was ok with the friar wrestling cause he was raising money. the real life friars wrestling name was Friar Tormenta, which means friar thunder, his real name was hector guitierezz.

Im also guessing 70's based on how the Luchadors looks, they were more santo, Mil Mascaras and Blue Demon looking (who were wrestling stars in the 70's) as opposed to modern day Luchadors.
