its cause douchebag weinstein barely advertised it, and i live in a major city and they only released it in 3 theaters

Son, that's not a rainbow, that's just the light reflecting of some baboon's waxed ass.

Seriously, how could this movie not break a million? It's really hard to make that small amount when it comes to "blockbuster" movies. Was it pulled from theaters or something? Anybody got the story behind this flop?

The bottom line is this movie was a box office flop, plain and simple.
It was like watching one of those cheap made for children's TV movies from the 1970's. Poor script, bad acting, cheap action scenes.
The Spy Kids movie franchise is far superior.

reply

No more watching this, even in my spare time. Once is enough.

reply

Although the film may be rubbish, just because it only made a miniscule amount in America doesn't mean it did'nt make money in other countries (although not nearly enough). Gross in America isn't the be all and end all, usually it is the foreign market where most films earn more money.

reply

actually it does. I mean look at the Harry Potter franchise. Those movies make about 900,000,000. A third of that is made in America... Some movies can do better overseas, but I dont think the kid genre is one of them.

anyway, I didnt know this movie existed, and i watched it because I had read the series..... It was very 1980's kid movie as someone in here said. No wonder they didnt promote it, they were probably embarrassed.

reply

I wish they'd reboot the film series some time in the future.

The 2006 adaption was horrendous, but the books could make good movies.

reply

I agree - they should give it another go, especially now that the book series is pretty much finished. They have a bigger picture of the story as a whole compared to what they tried to work with back in 2006. It's definitely major franchise material, it just needs the right team behind it.
