I understand the factor that instead of Lumberjack and Tree Farming, Danny wanted to pursue a career in photography and after meeting Catherine at the museum he visted, the time his Dad Christopher wanted to take him and Bridget and Mrs. Quinn to a Broadway Play he told his father that he wanted to stay in the city and work so he gets into a fight with his father his camera drops and he runs away fast.

My question is, how did Danny survive in New York City for 365 days or a year? Where did he live at and how did he eat? Did Catherine at all let him stay at her place at all and yes he was the one that took the photos of the Silver Bells that Mr. Rhineheart Sr. liked but how come Catherine knew about Danny all year and not Mr. Rhineheart or his son that accused him of leaving those library lights on because he needed those computers for the SAT? How did Dannys Dad and Bridget handle things in Nova Scotia with no Danny there? Did Catherine give him money so he could eat or not? How was he able to not be found by cops for a year.

A similar thing like this also happened in Theres No Business Like Show Business when Tim Donahue was gone for a year too but he was an adult and had money at least some savings but what did he do in working out problems of his own for a year I am wondering.

Where he lives is a question his sister asks and he answers that he has places to stay, implying he's not always staying in the same place however the caretaker at the castle appears to be letting him sleep there at night and reminds him to close the window because his boss noticed. As for money, at one point Catherine gives him an envelope with money saying its a bonus for the Silver Bells pictures from her boss and it is implied that he's been getting paid some money for all the pictures he's been taking for the "look up" campaign. He was studying for the GED not the SAT's as he ran away before he graduated high school. The winter after Danny runs away, Christy and Bridget are loading trees and there is another man with, presumably a man Christy hired to cover the work Danny used to do.

How did he avoid the cops for a year? Runaways manage all the time. How did father and son boss of Catherine not know about Danny? It is implied he didn't start using the upstairs library at night until recently when the son would have noticed. With that exception and he remaining mostly anonymous as their photographer for the campaign, two big businessmen like those it was probably easy to keep a secret on a boy that wasn't hanging out all the time. Granted, we are expected to fill in some of the gaps ourselves however I believed they implied and stated enough in the story to fill in some gaps while letting us the viewers draw our own conclusions from there.

Hi Lily thanks for explaining some of the things that happened when Danny ran away and was missing for a year and survived for a year without being found by cops.

Also I know Danny used a camera and for the year he was gone, however, don't forget when Danny got into that fight with his father, before he ran away, he dropped that original camera and don't forget that like you said when he told Bridgette where he was staying for a year, he stayed at several different places, including the caretakers place and sometimes Catherines place too, and Catherine did give him money from time to time.

Back to the factor of Dannys new camera he used, Catherine got him a new camera since she knew his photo talent and yes she paid him for some of the photos he took. However he must have gotten away with using the library computer without her boss Mr. Rhinehart and his son finding out that he was there until recently when Christy and Bridgette came back to sell trees again. So during that year Catherine did alot for Danny in those 365 days timing of part of his survival.
