Why don't films like this get shown in the U.S.?

It's no wonder we remain so ignorant here.

I watched it on Link this afternoon, been watching Link a lot lately, as my satellite subscription is finished, Link remains as a free channel, I don't know why I never stayed tuned before.

I often walk away in the middle of Link shows, knowing they play over and over again, but I could not draw myself away from this one. A stunning and entrancing movie, the acting and storyline were very well put together.

My theory on why it's hard to find unique movies here is:

Have you watched Supersize me? When the main character describes his feelings of longing for the food that is hurtful to him. Things bad for us are often addictive and Blockbuster junkfood cinema is the same and I am no less guilty than others... It takes a great leap of mind and willingness to open up to great stories once one is suffering of fastmovie addiction, I bounce back and forth, according to my life's activities at the time... I try to get my friends to watch these movies, but they are already lost to junkcinema

Best wishes

***So I've seen 4 movies/wk in theatre for a 1/4 century, call me crazy?**

I have to agree with U 100% !
Your post is one of the best I've read on IMDB.
I really mean it.
Save our friends and ourselves from junkcinema.
Thank U for this one.

Best regards from Poland.

It's on Link TV in a couple of hours but by the time you read this it might be too late.
As for your ignorant comment, I both agree and disagree. In America, if you take a passive interest in "world news" and wait for people to tell you what to watch then you will be disappointed. If you seek out alternative forms of imformation then there is A LOT out there.

I ask myself this all the time man.
But then again its something that i can look forward to, meaning hunting down foreign movies that no one in north american knows anythign about.
There is a whole differnt world out there of movies taht people are missing out on.
I can thank my bad health over the last 4 years for falling in love with foreign movies. Up until then i thought subtitles where stupid and foreign movies where all boring. But being stuck in bed and sick for so long, I started to really enjoy foreign movies and eventually got hooked on em!
This movie really touched me as so many other foreign movies have.
