I'd let Suda51 remain in charge. Killer7's background and main storylines are incredibly deep, vast, and complex. The only person who would understand all of them completely would be Suda51. Now, if he wanted to take a crew under his wing and perhaps hire a liason for some American production studio, then perhaps some good casting would take place.
All that aside, I think Suda needs to remain in charge of a would-be Killer7 film. There are very few people on this planet that understand the complexity of that game, and don't take that statement likely. Even if you "got" Killer7's story, there's a very high chance that you didn't understand the half of it.
As for our own cast picks:
Garcian/Emir: Snipes may not be tall enough. Mainstream as he may be, Will Smith could pull off Garcian. He's got the height and the build. Fishburne is too overweight.
Harman's voice is very distinct, so the right actor for the job is needed. Who that is, I have no idea. Eastwood comes to mind, but he isn't my number 1 pick. Until someone better comes along, Clint'll do.
Kaede: Keira Knightley comes to mind in terms of build. I see her playing the role, as well as Winona Ryder perhaps. However, my understanding is that Kaede is half Japanese, or completely Japanese. In order for it to be convincing, an Asian girl/woman should be cast, but she also needs to speak english without a trace of foreign accent in her.
Dan: Keanu actually sprang into my mind a while ago, but now that I think about it, he definitely isn't badass enough for the role (this is arguable). Jackman, on the other hand, works very well.
Kevin: I can see Crispin Glover doing the role justice if he buffs up a lot.
Con: His face is veiled except for his nose and mouth... so... I dunno.
Coyote: John Leguizamo or Oded Fehr come to mind.
Mask: Some really tall, well-built guy who speaks with a Mexican edge to his voice. Maybe hire one of the better actors from WWE who wears a Luchador mask. Seriously, though... Mask has be stumped.
I thought Iwazaru and Kun Lan were one and the same...hm. Shang Tsung from Mortal Kombat (Cary something or other) could work. I like his voice and his whole demeanor.
Bah, there are too many other characters to consider.
I think something a lot of us are forgetting is that a large amount of Killer7's appeal had to do with its presentation. By presentation, I mean the graphic style, the animation, and the voice acting. The voices were all very well done, and the graphics gave the game and story personalities of their own.
If Killer7 were to ever make it to movie-dom (which I doubt, since the game was a bit of a flop... so sad, but I digress), I wouldn't mind the style being almost identical to the game's. Same voice actors (perhaps they'd do their job a bit better knowing it'd be a film), similar animation (though improved so as to be compatible with film standards), and an almost identical story.
Killer7 played like a movie. A movie version of K7 should be similar to the game, though I can see the project doing well if it were done using real actors.
