Who would you cast if a film was made?

I would cast:
Fiona Belli - Allison Lohman
Lorenzo - Ian McDiarmid
Riccardo - Gary Oldman
Daniella - Selma Blair
Debilitas - Ron Perlman

other suggestions/comments?

One of the dogs from Disney's "Eight Below" as Hewie!
Keira Knightly as Fiona

(I like Ian McDiarmid as Lorenzo, good one)

reply

Right, I never thought about the "Eight Below" dogs
As for Keira....well, I like her, and she IS British, like Fiona, which fits well, but Keira is too athletic for Fiona's role. Maybe if she would stop working out for a month or two, then she would be ideal.

Wow...those were some...AWFUL choices! No offense, but they'd be better off hiring an unknown European actress for the role of Fiona (and not to mention Daniella) And Selma Blair as Daniella? Daniella is supposed to be beautiful beyond words. Selma Blair is cute, but is no Daniella. Again, hire a European actress. As for Fiona being English, is that even confirmed? Didn't this all take place somewhere in Italy? (I'm assuming Northern Italy, because of the mountains and castles) Fiona Belli and the other characters have clearly Italian names. Plus, take into account that many European films , when dubbed into English, have Brit accents. I'm assuming they took the same route here, to keep it all "Euro" I think...

You know what...you're right! Those were pretty bad choices, but I was too excited and impulsive.
Monica Belucci would make a good Daniella, IMO. For Fiona, they can use someone young and unknown.
And no, Fiona is not English. None of the characters are, look at their names: Daniella, Ugo, Lorenzo
I think the setting was actually meant to be Switzerland (remember they speak Italian, too). The last character, Lorenzo, his middle name was Aureolus. Aureolus was a Swiss alchemist from the 15th-16th century, who was one of the first alchemists to define the term homunculus. Lorenzo was probably loosely based on him.

I think the model Dita Von Teese would be great for Daniella (assuming she could act).

For Debilitas, Michael Bailey Smith would be great for him. He recently played Pluto in "The Hill have Eyes" remake where is character is big mutated man with the mind off a five year old. If that dosen't sound like Debi, I don't know what does.

For Fiona, I agree with the other posts when they say she should be an unknown actress.

Other than her last few lines and her maniacal laugh, there isn't much acting for Daniella. Just tell a model to have a blank face the whole time with small subtle smiles every now and then saying, "Dinner is served, miss." in an unemotional monotone voice.

Evenstar, have you ever been caught by Debilitas? I hate being the token "guy that absolutely sucks at the game", but I've been caught....and it doesn't sound too pretty....

Anyways, good point on Micheal Clark Duncan. He's also played the part of the King Pin. You watch him and you forget that the King Pin is supposed to be white. But a massive, brain-dead guy? Eh...anything's possible I suppose...

i think the perfect fiona would be christina cole from BBC's show hex.
i'd have to think for the others though.

Thora Birch has the perfect Fiona look in this picture I think, but she doesnt have a british accent (for english) or Italian (if they wanted to stay with the origins of the actual game setting), but the look is pretty good.

Or Clémence Poésy

So

Fiona - Thora Birch or Clémence Poésy

Daniella - Possibly Natassia Malthe as she looked in DOA (not just coz of the hair) I cant think of anyone else at the moment who would suit that role. Maybe Julie Dreyfus, she has a beautiful face, not perfect for Daniella but then again Daniella is unique and there is only one person out there who can fit her shoes and they wont be an actor.
Oh, how could I forget Silvia Colloca would be alright, shes beautiful.
Michelle Dockery (shes evil looking but not psycho)?
Ali Larter
Damn, why isnt there that one perfect actress out there, if there is I wish I knew who it was.
Rosamund Pike?

Ricardo Medina Jr. or Christian Bale maybe somewhere in the cast

(I know all my sugestions suck)
Also soon I will have up a pic of Ali Larter as Daniella, its not bad, but you be the judge.

Stephen Marcus would be perfect for Debilitas.

Rachel Nicolis could be really good as Fiona!

I wouldn't want a live action movie. I'd much rather have an animated version. I love the voice artist that did Daniella's lines, but somebody, ANYBODY else for Fiona. Jeez, I think even James Earl Jones would do a better job than the chick who voiced Fiona.

reply

She's an unknown, but she's called Amy and appeared on the X Factor in 2008 and didn't make it to the live shows. I think she's an absolute dead ringer for Fiona.
