Christian propaganda film

Horrible acting. The terrorists accents sound more like Latino gang accents - surprise! The actors are Latino, and they are _bad_ actors and hence the atrocious accents.

At the very end you start to realize it's just a lame-ass Christian propaganda film. But by then, there's only 15 minutes or so left, so you watch the rest laughing and saying to yourself: "I can't believe it! It's a Christian propaganda horror film!"

It sucks. Even if you are Christian, like Christian rock music and go to church every Sunday, you'll think this film sucks.

Otherwise, you may be like me and just see it as a truly pathetic film in oh so many ways.

Even a great like George A Romero can't stop dicking with his movies as a pulpit for his own ideas.

Nothing kills a movie as quickly as an ulterior motive.

Hmm not sure that any Christian church would rubber stamp this kind of propoganda! And indeed the themes dealt with in the movie could be indicative of most of the major religions, so I think it's more a matter of applicability. Which is to say that viewers who see this as a Christian theme are already heavily influenced by Christian tradition in either a positive or a negative sense, even if this is only to the extent that they subscribe to the modern consensus of slating anything remotely Christian. Lets face it, it's not cool to be orthodox! But I liked the film and I thought that the traditionalist approach was actually rather refreshing. After all, most modern horror films poor scorn or contempt on anything Christian. It's not even hip for Vampires to be scared of crucifixes any more!!

The key with this film is not to know anything about it beforehand. The acting did fall short of Academy Award standards (although I have seen a lot worse) but I stayed with it through curiosity and I thought that, overall, the film was well written. It is a neat little story and, so long as you don't let religious prejudices get in the way, it's quite enjoyable.

Regardless of your views of christianity, there are some not so subtle contemporary christian overtones in this film that you cant ignore, they were jarring, and they really took me out of the movie. It was so poorly written into the film it felt like an afterthought. Theres nothing wrong with a christian themed movie, but when the film shoves its message down your throat this blatantly and so poorly, you have every right to react with scorn.
apart from that, it was poorly written, had horribly unlikeable characters, and dialog that made me want to scratch my ears off. I can forgive bad acting, especially from a low budget horror film, but oy vey, this was painful to sit through.

So somehow you already know the minds of those who are Christians and what they might like?

Propaganda is in practically everything you watch. If it doesn't happen to be what you agree with or subscribe to, then it's called propaganda with a negative connotation. If it's alongthe lines of what you think of as social truths, then you call it the truth, or fact, when it's still propaganda.
