Anachronism!

Okay, what's up with Charles Higgins' truck? What's a late-'90s-to-(any-)'00s-model pickup truck (that black Ford) doing in a movie that's supposed to be set in the '70s and/or '80s?

Uhhh... OOOPS, Kurt, Dave, etc.!

Who ever said that it was set in ANY specific time period?

You took the words right out of my mouth, jed-37. I thought the movie was set in 2000 something...I was able to see it today and it was actually pretty good.

Yes, the ending was predictable and lacked some suspense. I think the suspense could have been ratched up a notch or two, and some of the night shots looked a little grainy (because part of the shots were shot in HD versus some were not).

The character Jeremiah was the most likeable. And I think it pulled off having a good message about service without being too "preachy."

I loved the substory romance about the janitor guy Thurman and Bertha.

And believe it or not, it didn't seem as violent as I predicted it would be. It had enough plot points and story from turning it into a slamfest.

Well, Jed, when you guys invited us to come out and be extras, Kurt and/or his casting directors told us to please come in notably late-'80s clothes, because that's when the movie was set in.

And then you know the story of when church tournaments actually WERE canceled, some time in the '80s like that. Well, yeah, I know, there still IS church basketball, but they scaled it down quite a bit.

So that's (you--well, okay, maybe not you personally, though--and the others there at HaleStorm) who said it was set in any specific time period.

Maxx - Get a life man. Since when do fictional movies need to follow timelines or certain periods? Plus we tell you to bring certain clothes to set so it follows the pattern of what the director envisions. No one ever said this movie was based in the 80's, 70's, 60's or even present day. It's a movie, take your meds and relax dude.

Tyler,
Thanks for the out-loud laugh. It was refreshing to read.
