Hey

Just saw the Butterfly Effect 2 on dvd.. It was not bad at all. Not an academy award winner.. but not a bad little film.. There are many people knockign the film..

Well if you look at the budget and time allwowed to make this film.. these guys had to shoot what they had in the time given.. If you look at the extras on the dvd,, they were only allowed 20 days to shoot the movie.. thats it.. they cant go back later and reshoot stuff.. Direct to dvd movies have little budget and very little time to make a movie .. Erica Durance is a hottie so that makes the movie easy to look at :)

The movie was not bad at all and you cant really compare it to the first movie because it has nothing to do with it at all..Just the concept of Time Travel.. Its not a real sequel but a continuation of the time travel effect.

If you want to see a bad movie , rent Rest Stop.. that movie made no sense at all..

I very much agree with John5321. This movie was not bad at all. I liked it very much and it was very well done and original I thought. It was one of my christmas gifts. When I saw previews of it , I made fun of it because you know how sequels can be. But, I am glad I gave this one a chance both great actors and brings it to a whole new film.

I agree, this film was much better than what people were saying about it, yeah the ending sucked because he died but hey that was the only way to end it all. She lived and so did the baby, does anyone see a # 3 because of this? I think the baby will grow up because it showed he had the same thing his father had, plus the baby could go back in time to save his father.

I haven't seen it yet. Some people say it's bloody awful, but some people think it's great. I think I might rent it tomorrow and form my own opinion.

I loved the movie. It was great. I didn't even know about the 20 day shoot thing untill I saw it on the DVD. Great work in my opinion.

I admit the first was better, but they had more actors and what not...

I'm only an hour in and I hate it, hate it, hate it!

First one was great and knocked my socks off in fact.

As for saying it cant be compared to the first is ludicrous. It has to be. I'm also not interested with budget and time etc, as this is what wer'e left with and it's not my fault! If theyre gonna make a decent film again (as they always have to!) then make another decent one, otherwise save all our time.

If they make more then I certainly wont bother watching. In future it will always be "Ah The Butterfly Effect, brilliant first one and then they did another one but.....(fill in the blank)

I loved Butterfly 2, I don't get the bad reviews on this film. I think people who were so thrilled with the first one just pretty much refused to give this movie a chance. People are like "This is the worst movie of all time", seriously? The worst movie of all time? Give the movie a break!

oh god this movie was horrible. They tried way to hard to make a strong relationship with charcters it was awful. I wish they made one just the same as number 1 following the story/plot of that.

See, that's what they call a sequel, signalp, it's a SIMULAR plot, not the same, otherwise, it's just a rip off of the first one.

John5321, who exactly "can't compare it to the original", because everyone I know can...

It is exactly the same idea/concept, pretty much same movie with different characters and a much worse story line/script. Oh, and he only uses photos as opposed to journal/video.

Okay, I didn't hate it, it was alright but at the end they actually use the same dialog as the original when he is talking to his mum about not being able to change anything and his mum says about how his dad was the same, i'm pretty sure word for word from the 1st which I thought was damn sad.

The premise is exactly the same, a guy got this power to look at the past captured previously somehow from his father as it is hereditary keeps going back in time changing something comes back to the present to see the world differently but stuffed up. Also Jason Treborn was mentioned in it (ashtons dad from 1st one) and he found a newspaper article with a picture.

How you can say it has nothing to do with the 1st one and you can't compare it is beyond me.

I haven't seen it yet, didn't know it existed until now. But, in my opinion the only way a sequel can work is if it expands on the events of it's predecessor, rather than give out a similar plot line adding nothing new to it except characters and scenarios, which is what this film seems likely to do.
However, as said I am yet to see it so I can't pass judgement.

so far, my only comrade is stockdale. and he appears to be very illiterate. you fools who enjoyed this movie, well....its like enjoying a sequel to the bible that hitler wrote. its just plain wrong.
