WHY LOU, WHY? WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO YOURSELF?

i absolutely adore really bad movies. i go out of my way to watch them. they make me really happy, because everyone got paid and people had jobs for a while, and who doesn't like two hours of something that is so compellingly bad you simply can't turn it off?

tonight i had the extreme pleasure of seeing my old friend lou diamond in yet another clunker. this time he brought a whole bunch of other people with him who all seemed to have drank the same kool-aid. you know the drink im talking about,
the one that starts with a phone call from your agent saying they've got a job for you that will pay your mortgage for a year and you don't have to do anything you havent done already a million times before. which is make another bad movie.

the actors are not bad. in fact, they are all solid. the script is weak then strong like a rollercoaster. the relationships between the characters are good.
what is bad?

THE DIRECTING. ALL OF THE CAMERA WORK. ALL OF THE AUDIO. ALL OF THE MUSIC.

you cant overcome terrible technical people. if you cant rely on your crew,
your product is going to suck. and boy, this sucked. i cant even imagine what
the director was thinking when he shot some of this stuff. the shots are completely without any sense at all. in fact, i saw one shot of four actors in a cubicle, in dim light, at an angle, from a jib. WHY? did the tech crew have wrap parties every night so they could all laugh at the stuff they shot during the day?

i continue to watch lou kill his career. i can only hope he tosses his manager
to the dogs soon and starts begging people for a second (third, fourth) try at this. the man is beautiful, can act and seems to want to keep working. but he simply has to stop making crap.

thats my take. and oh, the redhead was a stunner, like dina meyer but softer and more likeable.
