nobody's talking about this movie??

I guess I'll start. I wrote up a review just before...For me this film held some extra value cause of the location- Bogota is literally a block away from where I live, so seeing all these images and people (aka the "Bogotians" ho-ho) was really a treat. Anybody else see it, or am I the only one?

To compare this movie with Michael Moore does an injustice to this film.
Ugh, it even sullies it. Michael Moore's flims are just the one sided! Atleast, the filmmakers showed three side to the movie.

By the way, Dave Musikant's stand on politics was that Lonegan wanted to close down the school. The high school, like he did with one of the elementary schools. Dave wanted to keep the high school that he loved so much. He wanted to see his nephew graduate from Bogota, and hopefully his niece.

As much as all the high school kids loved Dave's policies, hardly any went out and voted for him. (how sad, really...)

Anyway, they are now showing the movie again in my hometown of North Bergen. I can't wait to see it again.

By the way,

who was your favorite?

I liked Steve but I LOVED Dave.

Woooo hooooooo! *goofy laugh*

Dave was the best!

reply

I didn't like any of them. That's why I'm happy living in Teaneck...not that Bogota isn't a cozy little nook of a town.

reply

Teaneck has bowlrite, right?

But Dave was just great! I wish I had gotten to meet him.

reply

I don't quite know what you mean by bowlrite.

Dave was cool, I felt sorry for him at times, but he had a *beep* more ambition than either of the other candidates (I'm democrat, so I do agree that independents take up votes from democrats, but in this case Pesce wasn't exactly all that and a bag of chips as small-town mayors go, and I even know one in upstate New York).

reply

Fred Pesce hardly did anything by way of campaining. I think his people only went door to door twice. Only once do I remember actually seeing Fred. It was usually Joe Noto.

I think Dave did a good job, I mean hiring Doug was a great start! Then something happened as it came closer to election time. I think Dave was just so sure that he would win, that he kind of stopped the gung ho effort.

I dunno, I kind of wish Dave would have won. But I knew already that Steve had won, so I wasn't that upset when Dave lost.

Btw, do you mean that you know another mayor in upsate. Or another whole Bogota-esque mayoral.. er.. for lack of better word.. hoo-haa.

(by bowlrite I meant the Bowling Alley.. i can never remember what town exactly its in. Only that I beg my friends to drive out of the way, so I can go through Bogota shouting "I know that! I know that!" and "Yay!")

reply

The bowling alley is in Hackensack (my meaning Bowler's city?)

reply

Oh right! Bowlrite is the crappy one in my town. Oops! Sorry about that
