Why was the alien after Wyatt the most?

To take more tests I think. He was a valuable experiment, 'cause he and that guys brother passed the first test, but the other guy got sick too fast, and he seemed stronger.

Maybe they figured he was dangerous. The girlfriend said she felt the alien was afraid of Wyatt, while she was under the alien's influence.
And he actually was dangerous to them, 'cause he could resist the alien's influence.

I wasn't sure what was going on in the scene where the alien is pinned to the wall and Wyatt was resisting its (presumably telepathic) infulence, but I was thinking that was what they were interested in or feared. It almost felt a bit like a Stephen King story in some parts mainly because of IT... there's another one I can't think of of the top of my head too. The most we got in dialogue was that the aliens were probably scared of him for some reason and the invasion theory.

Perhaps they were hesitating on taking over the Earth because they were wary of others like Wyatt being out there, I really don't know. Wyatt's reason for not killing the alien being that if they killed one of them they would declare war on Earth came out of the blue really. I'm not sure I understood a lot of what was going on, but it was a decent little horror film though, and I enjoyed the effort into the practical effects rather a lot.
