Why didn't the aliens notice Wyatt in the forrest? (spoilers)

When he was on his way back to the house, where the alien was being tortured, a lot of aliens went by him without paying attention to his presence. Did it have anything to do with him being altered?

yeah, i was wondering the same thing, he closed his eyes in that part, i wondered if that had anything to do with it. maybe they can't see him if his eyes are shut.....?

I think he made himself invisible to the aliens. Either from being altered or by some other skill he developed by researching the aliens. I thought that part was cool.

It just saw this move and I loved it! 8/10
Well back to your question: In the end of the movie the Alien make this "sound" into Wyatt's head as a kind of mindcontrol... and shortly after Wyatt do the same thing to the alien. That is why they are scared of him and that also explains why the walk by him without seeing him. IMHO he simply do "mindcontrol" of the aliens hence they can not see him. I think the reason why he close his eyes are simply to concentrate better.

Love it as well

I think He made himself invisable, Remember in the begining when the rednecks capture the Aliens and Cody snags it with the harpoon and begins reeling it in they show that nothing is on the line however it is clear that he has it based on the tension in the line, the Alien was able to make himself invisable, I think Wyatt had the same power.

Thanks that explains a lot broncos. And then afterwards the forest was all flattened around him. I thought that was a clever scene.

This might be redundant in a thread where the very title is somewhat of a spoiler, but be warned ************SPOILERS AHEAD******************

I must be the only one who doesn't think he made himself invisible, then.
To my mind, the scene appears to be just another chapter in the Aliens-Fscking-With-Wyatt book.

Ok, what happens is -from memory- he leaves the forest, and is in a clearing. He knows that the aliens have found him. He gives up. I don't mean 'he surrenders to the aliens,' I mean 'he gives up hope.' He expects that he's done and that the aliens will be taking him away any second. But instead, the aliens all pass around him, leaving him alone. I felt that they were just fscking with him still. When the aliens clear off, Wyatt has a look of utter shock on his face. It didn't appear to me to be a look of "Yeah! My invisibility spell worked!" It looked more like a "What the fscking hell just happened" look.

It seemed to me that they were just fscking with Wyatt the whole time. Seeing what he'd do. When his girlfriend shot the alien in the head, the aliens decided enough was enough, and moved in en mass to bring the charade to an end. Or maybe they would have done that regardless of whether or not the girlfriend had shot Mr. Alien.

But anyway, that's what I thought after watching the movie. I'm going to watch it again now, and see if that "invisible" thing makes sense.

Peace out

Ok, just watched that scene again (and the "guts" scene, which has to be one of the most horrible things I've ever seen, in a life coloured by many horrible things...)
I have to say, I really don't know.

It could be what I said earlier about the aliens just wanting to fsck with him some more.

Or it could very well be that he focuses his mind on not being seen by the aliens.

What apears to be the first alien in a long (marching?) line of aliens stops and stares at him. Either that, or it stares at the space where Wyatt is and feels something, but can't see him. About 3/4 of the way through the marching parade of aliens, another stops and appears to stick its face right into Wyatt's personal space. It's either
(a) looking directly at him, letting him know that he's so insignificant, that they could take him right now to the spaceship, but they still want to fsck with him some more, so they'll leave Wyatt alone for now. OR
(b) looking right at the spot where the alien feels something, but can't see anything. I mean, when Wyatt closes his eyes, there's this 'tense instrumental music' (god I hate it in the subtitles when they describe what type of music is playng...) and it stops when he opens his eyes. It could very well be a sound-effect generated to let us know that someone is using some sort of mind-control techique or somesuch.

So that's my four cents worth.

Could be either. Don't know. Wish I did...

Peace out :)

Ya, it could be either of the two points you mentioned. Thanks for the explanation, I was confused by that scene too.
