The low point of my entire day

I know everyone that will look at this probably loves this show, but I just want to tell the interwebz that Squidbillies is truly the low point of my entire day in terms of what is shown on Cartoon Network / Adult Swim. I would rather watch Scooby Doo. Thank you for reading and enjoy the rest of your day.

I'm curious. What is your cultural background? Where did you grow up, what music influences were in your toddler years and what are your parents educational and employment histories?

Did you hear Johnny Cash playing on the radio?
Did you head to Branson for vacation?
You have any white hicks in your family tree or been to rural America?
Have you eaten in a restaurant, like Cracker Barrel, where they serve chicken-fried steak covered in gravy, and have a gift shop with talking trouts on sale?

I've done every one of those things, and I don't like this show.

I also know plenty of people who eat at Cracker Barrel, love Branson, and listen to country music who would find this show bizarre, off-putting, and possibly disgusting.

More importantly though, if it is necessary for one to fit a particular, narrow demographic description in order to enjoy this show, how good of a show could it actually be?

Actually, it's suited for liberal hicks, ex-hicks, people raised by hicks that have shaken off their hick heritage or people who find hicks off-putting and laughable (which is likely the majority of people who like it).

I can also admit that people might really hate the animation quality and not be able to get past that to enjoy the music and jokes.

Atheists of Austin Texas love it. Bible-thumpers are probably not loving this show.

Atheists of Little Rock, Arkansas love it too. We just barely escaped the hick heritage...by about twenty-five miles (the city limits).

...you must live in WLR or downtown or in uppity Hillcrest or nowhere close to the Pulaski County line...and I love Squidbillies.

Ha I wish I still lived in those areas, right now we're living in and fixing up a house near UALR (we bought it to rent out to students after we renovate). This is a HUD Housing district so it's QUITE Squidbillies-esque...though still not as much so as, say, 10 miles farther south down University.

No one else here will have any idea what I'm talking about. :)
And I love Squidbillies too.

LOL, I feel you! I live on the outskirts of Pulaski County (on the border of Bryant) and I see what could be a Cuyler relative at my preferred liquor store nearly EVERY time I go (which is...fairly occasional)! 🙌

lemme guess it hit home a little too closely lol

so there you have it.. my opinion (the correct one)

I grew up in Georgia and North Louisiana. I love this show. I new people, though as quite over the top, had the thought process of the Cuylers. This show reminds me of them.
