Why do you like this show?

I've watched it multiple times since it came out, but I've never found the show to be that entertaining...Can anyone explain to me the appeal that i'm missing or at least give me some episodes that I should watch that would get me into it?

This kind of line is very creative and Unknown Hinson smoothly oozes it into your ears:

Like the untamed wildtitudes erupting in the space where your brain used to live. Take a sip, you'll see... But not for long!

My father was from southern Missouri, a share cropper farmer who worked the fields starting at 3 years old and never got past 9th grade. I have a college degree and live in a city but I can still identify with much of this. They really know how to poke fun at hicks.

The show garners a lot of respect from musicians as seen by all the artists coming in to cover the title song. Even though the animation is super crude, the jokes have some pretty deep insight into human nature and politics. The voice talent is amazing. Best of all, it really lampoons hypocrisy most every episode.

There have been some real stinker episodes but the truly excellent ones keep me coming back. I gave it an 8 stars.

because television is occupied with california and new york life, rarely does it ever have anything southern and when it does it is written by someone from cali or new york with a cast from those places or even worse has a brit or aussie acting southern....finally there are southerners expressing themselves and sharing some of the great and funny from that tens of millions of people can relate too, plus anyone in the urban areas can relate to it as well and that's over half of america, meanwhile hollywood is focusing on city living for the most part

so in short, we all love the burt reynold's deep south films, we all want something new and different, we all want something relatable, we all know that when people write and star in their own shows that it makes for an awesome show, and when you use the most country musician on the planet for the theme song (the great billy joe shaver), and you have unknown hinson doing what he does best, then you're already cookin' with crisco, there's a lot of humor in the south far beyond the typical stereotypes
