Aw c'mon, this movie wasn't THAT bad.

This should be at least a 5.5, it has all the elements of a solid action flick:
-Nuclear Tension
-Obligatory Topless Bar Scene
-Badass who doesn't take guff from anybody
-Explosions
-Screaming Russians falling from high places

I enjoyed this more than Syriana or The Constant Gardner... Both of which I found to be highly depressing.

I agree with you... For me it worked best to see this movie in the morning. I could walk many times to the coffee machine without having to press the pauze button

Don't be a tourist, just live like one

reply

Syriana is def. better!! imo....LOL

reply

Well, different strokes for different folks.

But this person thought The Marksman was one of the worst films he's seen in a LONG while. I hate to slag movies off cause a lot of people spend a lot of time and effort to make the damn thing in the first place.

But this was truly an effort to sit through. Wesley, what are you doing with your career? Surely, after the heights of Blade, you didn't deliberately plan to be in a film with Emma Samms as your co-star??

reply

I recently tried to watch The Marksman and fell asleep, i couldnt believe Wesley Snipes has lowered himself to making such cheap crap. Whats happened to him, he must need some cash allowing himself to star in straight to video movies with a budget of about £50. In his movies you usually knew you would be gauranteed some action with a few one liners but now Wesley joins the ranks of Seagal, Van Damme and big wooden Dolph Lundgren.

Painful continuity errors, scenes/characters lifted from the atrocious Active Stealth, slow clunky plot... painful. Utterly painful.

I think I've used the word 'painful' enough.

reply

Why , why was this movie SO UNBELIEVABLY dull. I can't believe that so stupid movies are still made in 2005. Come on ... this "Marksman" would be interseting in 1985. I think the plot and the script and everything was absolutely ridiculous. Aren't you tired of russians , who want to resurect "Mother Russia". OMG !!!
And of course the russian army , which has about 19 000 tanks can't coap with 5 terrorists.

reply

i think that you have to give a little credit to the film. the DVD cover art was good enough to persuade me to rent it:)

seriously now, it has been quite a while since i have watched a film and gone" that was a waste time and money in so many different ways." i think it is safe to admit that snipes career is going no where fast. maybe he should try broadway.

why dont you shove your head up your ass, see if it fits. - Scarface

This movie had no redeeming qualities whatsoever, it was not the worst movie I've ever seen but it was pretty bad.
I gave it a 3/10. And normally I'm very lenient on movies as long as I enjoy them, even if they are hokey. I mean, as long as it was enjoyable and you didn't feel like you wasted 2 hours than who cares? But I did not enjoy this at all, I wanted to stop halfway through but managed to finish it because I knew it was only 90 minutes.

You're Right I enjoyed this movie, it was every thing neccesary for a good military flick:

A High Tension Plot
Unlimited Suspense
Special Operations Force
nice use of enemies
nice location

it deserves to have a sequel

reply

Your right. Alot better than I thought it would be after looking at the rating on this site.
