Wesley Snipes and Steven Segal

Why don't they do a movie together, they seem to be doing direct-to-videos now and I'm definitely not saying they aren't good actors because I love thier movies, but I think it would be awesome to see them in a movie together.

reply

yeah it would cuase they could use each other to help make their movies better cause they both havent made a decent one in a while which sucks cause they are 2 of my favorite actors

Steven Seagal? Actor?

Wesley Snipes is leaps and bounds beyond Seagal.

I think their egos are too big for that. You ever notice that you rarely (only a few instances) ever see two martial arts action stars in the same movie? The exceptions are where they're on opposite sides of the law (Lone Wolf MCQuade: Norris/Carridine, Demolition Man: Stallone/Snipes, and that Jet Li movie with Mark Dacascos). They're usually too insecure to appear in the same film cuz they afraid of being upstaged. I think legitimate martial arts stars, like Li, Jackie Chan and Donnie Yen are more likely to work together cuz they have a mental maturity and egoless-ness that Hollywood actors don't possess. I always thought it would be cool to see Van Damm and Segal or Don "the Dragon" in a movie together. But I think they would be too afraid of having their weakness exposed.

I remember a featurette of Predator that Carl Weathers or somebody was saying that the actors were constantly running back to their trailers to lift weights and pump up so they would look bigger than the others, especially Arnold. Alot of insecure testoterone. Snipes would fit right in there with them. He needs to take a break from the action flicks and go back to some comedy or drama before he gets seriously typecast.

Ego does have alot to do with it, but I bet if there was enough money and hype behind the movie you could get two big stars in the same movie. Personally I never liked Steven Segal, I always thought his movies sucked with an exceptional few being good. But I doubt these two would ever make a movie together, but you never know.

reply

Segal is now too fat. Which at least suits his fighting style.

Snipes has lost his way and would be better off sticking to the blade franchise.

You have no credibility when you type "alot," which is not a word; you mean "a lot."
You frikin illiterate moron. OK, maybe that's an exaggeration.

yeah, while I agree that Snipes is at a point where he does nothing but bad action movies, he has shown the ability to act. Seagal never shown a hint of acting ability, though i dont think the attempt to act has ever been made either.

reply

people forget the fact that snipes has given some great performances, don't forget films like new jack city, king of new york and particularly one night stand. snipes holds his own with actors like robert downey jr and kyle macachlan. despite this, he does have a habit of sullying things by ending up in *beep* like unstoppable, 7 seconds and art of war. The marksman hasn't been released in the uk yet - makes you proud to be british...

I have always wanted to see Segal and Van Damn together, but it will never happen, its definatly and ego thing, when you do see two martal arts actors in the same movie, it is usally because one of them is not in the mainstream and the other is.
Its unfortunate that fighters like Micheal Jay White ( spawn, Exit Wounds, Silver Hawk, Universal Solider Reurns ) dosen't get some lead roles, a waste of talent, also Mark Dacascos is a great fighter ( Double Dragon, The Crow TV series, Drive, Cradle to The Grave,) in fact, i recomend that anyone here looking for a good fun martial arts flick, check out DRIVE, this movie shows what Mark can really do, it was a fun film with some fun humor, and a cameo appearance of Britiny Murfy.

hey you missed 2 classic Mark Dacascos films out! Crying Freeman is one of his best! and i also recommend on the streets only the strong survive!! Brazilian martial arts!

DECASCOS!!
