Sid Vicious

In the "Pilot" episode, during the "Wayne meet and greet", Tom is quized on Sid Vicious' real name. He answers with "John Simon Richie", aka: "Sly" to his friends. Wasn't his last name "Beverley"?

reply

Nope

Both. One was his birth name and one was his mother's. He later went by Beverly. Good catch. I caught it too in the pilot.

Anyone else wonder why Sid wasn't mentioned again when they went to the Chelsea?? That IS where Nancy got the stab.

I had the opportunity to see the "unedited" pilot for LM and it WAS mentioned in the lobby scene but later cut. Too messy a subject for a lite comedy I guess. In addition, the scene at CBGB's, where Wayne's cell phone rings, was originally an Eric Clapton ringtone but later dubbed to a generic melody.

wow- you are lucky to have seen the unedited one! I am also glad to know that originally they intended to address something that would be so obvious a true music "fan".
If you don't mind, what exactly was originally said in the lobby scene?

Between Tom's references to Bob Dylan and Led Zeppelin, he states "It's also the spot where Sid Vicious allegedly killed Nancy Spungen . . . and later OD'd. So . . . you know . . . good times."

FYI- Wayne's ringtone in CBGB's was a chimes format of EC's Layla.

FYI (2)- The original theme song was "Someone Who Is Cool" by Odds (since disbanded) on their Nest album.

Thanks so much!
