Was the guys Karina's blood brothers?

Interesting how the movie played out in such an organic way in leaving the viewers without the answer who Karina will pick. I like that, it looks as if she didn’t want to choose, because it would dishonor the one left out. She had such a crazy life style being a hooker but these two guys gave her a sense of family and she didn’t want to betray that bond.
