Usage of Russian songs

I was born in Russia and I don't like those songs. The first of them is a sentimental song about Mother's love ('Oh, my mother, you didn't sleep at nights when I was small, and so on...), the second is a love song from before-revolution time (if I had mountains of gold... all the same I would prefer your love instead of them). I can't say about typical or not this film, but I liked it (not songs!).
