Started out alright, then it got funny

Japanese horror always seems to get a laugh out of me.

the suspense for the movie worked. the cinematography was clean.
the acting was surprisingly good (compare this it Ju-On and you'll see what i mean).
yet nearing its ending, the movie got comical.

and the long-hair-in-front-of-face girl with the crip-walk is getting boring (yes, it has cultural use).
but it gets old very quickly when it doesn't work for the movie.

this director has good ideas, but he can never seem to pull them off smoothly.
he can also repeat the same base for his movies, and people will praise it as original
when its just a rehash of what he already did.

the highlight of this movie is the actress Yuka.
the story was good, i just would have liked the plot to play out better.

P.S
why is it every time i look at the message board of Japanese Horror movies, i see these types of post.
is this what you have to resort to, because someone didn't like the same movie as you?
"you probably just like gore"
"i looked at your post history" (apparently that alone justifies your insults?)
"oh, well, you're American...so of course this movie is too sophisticated for you"
"you have to actually pay attention with this type of movie, unlike American Horror"

someone not liking a movie has nothing to do with them being American.
it has nothing to do with them being an idiot or enjoying mindless films.

you think Japanese just automatically enjoy these types of horrors?
and when Japanese viewers don't like this particular horror
or give horror movies from their own country a low review...what do you think then?

They make better horror. Unquestionably. Not the best in the world, but the States lost their ability a long time ago. Asian horror love the "girl with long dark hair coming for you" trope, but they're still miles ahead of the Americans. Miles. Like the yanks dont use the same boring cliches over and over. Horror from the states are either remakes of better foreign horror films, or irrelevant crap with terrible story lines. In saying that, The Exorcist ftw.
