Bollywood sucks for embarrasing us Indians in front of the world.

I'm an Indian, and I hate to see foreigners dissing our Nationality, our audience and its mostly because of only Bollywood. Please, Bolly, keep making your K3G-KANK type movies over and and over again and keep yourself busy only targetting the typical audience, don't try to ****ing market in on Hollywood, for Christ's sake, our Indian audience could never appreciate nor understand the majority of the movies in Hollywood, let alone try to "REMAKE" One.
I mean really, people laughed in the theater in States when Tobey Maguire - Peter Parker started crying in Spiderman3 when Mary Jane Watson ditched him on the bridge, and we have Karan Johar movies being superhits. In our TV, its programs like that god-damed Kasauti and Saas bhi kabhi dominate - In the States, its LOST and Prison Break. Heck, we have streets going up in fire whenever a movie with lesbianism comes on here in India, or warrants up just because some foreigner kissed a desi celebrity on the "CHEEK".

Bollywood must realize they are nowhere near even ready, close to achieving what Hollywood is trying to do, the sooner they realize, the sooner the Americans and the rest of the world stops thinking how much we Indians suck because we keep making them damned movies with magical songs out from nowhere.

As much as i feel it rather banal to support someone as if i were owing allegiance or something, i agree with you as wholeheartedly as i can allow myself. As a pakistani-american - in which i would fall practically under the same categories as indians at least in comparison to european-descendents - i feel shame and embarressment at the mockery indian films make in their imitation of Hollywood - nay, western altogether - ideas. Where indian culture is rich and civilized, bollywood films are capricious and superficial - a parody of the gravity of their own culture through all its years of continuity that have allowed it to become so profound and great. Bollywood movies are capricious and superficial in a lighthearted way - sure - but also in a stupid way, in a way such that if you've seen as many Indian films as i have, they become predictable, banal, and ultimately as incapable of inducing mind stimulation as a sterile man inducing pregnancy. Foreign observors with good taste (and lets perhaps allow some exceptions which some members of this bollywood-supporting board would, no doubt, claim themselves to be)- westerners especially - should feel uncomfortable and a bit alienated at such nonsensical almost self-parodying renditions that these films are. This alienation extends just as well to good Indians such as yourself (if you allow me to assume you are in this category, anyways), for whom being amongst the bane adds greater embarrassment, and whom I almost pity and at the least agree with. Perhaps the cheery attitude and cliche storylines in Bollywood film are just a nonchalant, purposefully mild approach to quench the Indian thirst of wanting to bring back or redeem - or at least maintain - parts of their culture that have been forgotten or erased - perhaps its all just a nostalgic romanticism in the midst of the advancement into modernity and the slow eradication of traditional values. Nonetheless, despite the unique art that it may be and for whatever purpose, this montage of scraped together and misplaced and poorly imitated ideas is as high and magnificent form of mediocricy as ive ever seen - its senseless, decadent, rabble-rousing, good-for-nothing, stupidity-generating, wholesome SCUM. And now ill take my leave - i've got to go see an Indian movie =). J/K. RANT END.
