I Am Jack's Disclaimer

To all you people out there, this is NOT a REMAKE of the 1999 Fight Club. This is NOT a KNOCK-OFF of 1999 Fight Club. This is just just an indian movie CALLED Fight Club about some college guys starting a fight club.

There is a completely different concept and plot to this film. Some parts, yes, are cheesy and others are pretty good. I know this because I own it. My co-worker bought it for me because she knows about my obsession with David Fincher's Fight Club.

Just because a movie has the same name as an older one, it doesn't mean it's a remake. Search this database for the movie "Nobody's Fool" and tell me if those are all remakes. (the answer is no. They just have the same title)

I'm one of the biggest fans of the 1999 Fight Club and the 1996 released novel, and at first I was against this movie because I thought it was going to be a rip-off, but after watching it I can see that it's a whole other movie on it's own (with, yes, SOME similarities of the fighting/rules/etc)

That's all I've got to say.

So to all of you, stop saying some sh!t unless you know some sh!t.

Thank you.

sounds like a good summary to end my curiosity about this movie.

I stumbled here looking for the other fight club and had no idea they had made this or other movies. I wouldnt think it would be the same movie anyways.
Ill have to watch this sometime.

There is a special edition Fight Club DVD. It was a true special edition, in the fact that it was the first release of the movie. I do believe it has since gone back into print, but, the true special edition has a booklet with it, where as the rerelease only has a paper insert that lists the chapters. Anyhow, it's two discs. The second disc is loaded with features. Quite interesting. Well worth the buy.

So, the only things that are really similar are

1. The title of the movie

and

2. The Fight Clubs, which used to be a completely original concept before this silly movie came out.

I can't be ignorant and say that this movie does not seriously steal the ideas in the 1999 masterpiece. Especially when some of the rules are either word-for-word right out of Fight Club 1999, or are just the same rules re-worded. It's a shame that such an original and brilliant movie is being knocked off, and having the characters replaced by whiney college kids.
