From February 13 onward Julio Medem will immerse himself in the filming of his seventh feature film, "Caótica Ana", a story which has gone through eight rewrites. Produced by Sogecine and Alicia Productions and in collaboration with Volcano Films the filming will last for 11 weeks in such locations as Madrid, the Canary Islands, Ibiza, New York and Arizona. The film has a budget of 5 million euros. The production collaborates with The Televisión Española and the Government of the Canary Islands.
Cast: "Chaotic Ana" stars the young actress Manuela Vellés, who makes her film debut as Ana, and the singer Bebe; the renowned British actress Charlotte Rampling, President of the Jury of the Berlinale '06, will likely star as well. The film, that includes a cast and crew of many nationalities, includes such remarkables as Lluís Homar, Matthias Habich, Gerrit Graham and the young Nicolas Cazalé, Ash Newman and Raul Rock.
Crew & Equipment: Julio Medem has surrounded himself with some of his close collaborators such as Alberto Iglesias, composer of his films and an Academy Award Nominee for his score for The Constant Gardener, the director of photography Mario Montero, art director Montse Sanz, the costume designer Estibaliz Markiegi and set designer Koldo Zuazua. The casting director is Sara Bilbatúa. "Chaotic Ana" will be the first European production to film in High Definition with the most innovative technology available in the industry using Sony HdCam 950, used in films such as Star Wars: Episode III and Sin City. Julio Medem thus becomes the first European director to use this technology.

Con la producción de Sogecine y Alicia Produce y la colaboración de Volcano Films el rodaje tendrá una duración de 11 semanas en localizaciones de Madrid, Canarias, Ibiza, Nueva York y Arizona. EQUIPO ARTÍSTICO: “Caótica Ana” está protagonizada por la joven actriz Manuela Vellés, que debuta en el cine como Ana, la cantante Bebe y la prestigiosa actriz británica Charlotte Rampling, Presidenta del Jurado de la Berlinale 2006, que previsiblemente participará en la película. El reparto, que abarca distintas nacionalidades, cuenta con nombres tan destacables como Lluís Homar, Matthias Habich, Gerrit Graham y los jóvenes Nicolas Cazalé, Ash Newman y Raúl Peña.

Edit on May 28: Nice to see that the main page is being updated by someone close to production, as it has been up-to-date for some days already—that is, there is an update on the JulioMedem.org website about the status of the project, which has now entered post-production, and also information that it shan't be ready for an Autumn premiere, being most likely released in early 2007.
