For entering Lage Raho Munnabhai in top 250 list!!

After reading the basis on which imdb puts film in its top 250, it seems that a film needs high votes AND many votes. And the votes it does get have to be from regular voters. If all that makes sense.

In other words, to all the people who want this in the 250, you should start voting regularly for other films too. That way your vote will actually be counted, and incorporated into Lage raho munnabhai's actual score.

If we don't vote for any other movies regularly, our single vote for this film is pretty much wasted.

So you know what to do...

just vote as many movies you can/seen..i am sure you have seen quite a lot of movies :D

An average voter needs about 60 odd votes to be counted as a voter. And a movie needs about 1500+ votes from these voters and that rating should be 8+ - It keeps changing but i think this is what it needs currently - do vote for this movie 8+

How do you know? iMDb don't release details of what constitutes a regular voter in order to prevent vote stuffing by fan groups.

Is the film really that good? There's 250 great films already in that list (OK 230+ great films and a few turkeys) and hundreds more films with similar "Why isn't this in the top 250" threads like this one.

If your really believe that this film should be in the top 250, why don't you campaign for it to be released on DVD and distributed more widely.
Although the film has apparently been released in the UK, I had never heard of it ten minutes ago.

If the film is good enough it will gather enough votes to get there

It is thru various posts on different movie forums that i came to the figure of 60 odd votes for an average voter.

Iam already in the forum for a few more movies for "why isn't this in the top 250" threads. The whole point of these threads is that people feel that movie is THAT GOOD.

I agree with u totally that if its that good it will gather enough votes - just that being a hindi movie - it needs more wide promotion and distribution which is difficult.

Lets wait and watch - maybe it'll have those votes (though I doubt it).

At least by this thread - people get a positive feedback about the movie.

The posts on these other forums are probably just guesses - IMDb has a strict policy of not revealing that sort of detail - plus I suspect it changes from time to time

I hope it does get that release - I'd like the chance to make up my own mind on it

For me, when I am watching a foreign (i.e. non English language) movie then if it telll me something about the country and culture from which it originates or if it deals with themes which are universal enough to 'strike a chord' with viewers irrespective of their cultural background or better still both of these then I would consider it worth watching and maybe it will have a chance.

ishanjetley , r u joking? u see this movie as a crap? maybe u are not watching bollywood movies enough these days. there are movies that are not even worth crap. anyway, im not here to judge anyone's choice, but for me, Lage Raho Munnabhai is one of the best bollywood movies i've seen this year(and DOR also).

just checked wow this movie made top 50 in comedy and its at #3

for top 50 in comedy the regular votes should be 1000.... that means this movie still needs another 300 regular votes to be listed in top 250

You need 1300 votes, but most of these votes aren't "regular." IMDB has a system before entering a movie in the top 250.
