the most over-rated movie of all time

i don't understand why this movie has such a high score. most of the jokes were old or reused and you were lucky if a single scene wasn't over-acted. also the whole gandhi thing started to annoy me. don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the guy but if i wanted a history lesson i wouldn't want it filled with lame jokes and a so called "plot" which was comepletly pridictable. another thing that angers me is the way they managed to fit in all the actors, give the movie the same name, and have absolutely nothing to do with the previos one. i mean it's like the director was "oh since they all liked the first one i am going to make another one except it is completly irrelivant and hopefully no one will notice." this movie was a complete bore and a waste of time.

feel free to disagree but i don't want to hear it unless you have a valid point.

While I am myself not a great fan of the movie, to be fair the flick is not too bad. While the lead actor might be charged for over acting (or rather under acting I would think), most of the cast does a darn good job. Moreover, the movie was not intended as a "history lesson". In fact, that is everything the movie DID NOT want to be. So I guess you got the plot wrong there. As far as the same names for the sequel is concerned, that is pretty much the idea behind sequels now isnt it. They do not carry off from where they left off, but rather spin a different tale with the same characters. I think you completely missed the message of the movie, recommend a rewatch.

The best part of the movie was when I used the fast forward button on my DVD. This one was disgusting and embarrassing. Movies like these are huge hits in India! Long live marketing!!

People really don't like using their own brains, right?

I don't really agree with you, but at least you posted your views as simply your opinion and based on your own taste for films.

I personally, like many other people, enjoy movies to have a social/moral meaning (makes the movie a little bit more worthwhile), but really only if it is either subtle or disguised in some manner. I mean, I don't want a lame speech in the end where the main character explains the moral (like at the end of Krazzy 4, that was a horrible and lame excuse for trying to make the film have some meaning).

But in the case of this movie, I felt it was well-disguised in the shadow of comedy. Of course, the meaning was obvious, but it wasn't really forced. The comedy I felt, was certainly lacking compared to the first, but did provide at least a few laughs. For someone who likes a light comedy (or a masala flick), this movie may not be for them, but for someone who would rather watch a meaningful and somewhat entertaining film, this definitely hit the mark.

And even if you didn't like this film, you have to give it credit for not following the usual trend of overused bollywood plots. At the very least, it was unique and certainly not a copy of a hollywood film, which is rare to see nowadays.

Dude!
you need to relax!
You like the movie so much , atleast you could draw inspiration from the Gandhian message!
Firstly if you don't want to discuss the movie why come to a message board?
Also why do you come to imdb? Then why do you read the message board posts?
Then why do post in it?
Also why do you use **** why not say the word?
Or, were you not taught good language skills?
Lastly,
What use are you to mankind and why were you born?
(Hint: you could answer that with the advanced vocabulary you know ;))

Now to what I wanted to say, some people on this board have an annoying habit of knowing it all! That defeats the concept of a message board/ discussion list, one needs to be open to all kinds of ideas..
Having said that, I would point you guys to a discussion I had with another narrow minded bloke (or another frog in the well):
