Dead Reviewers Of Dead Life?

I've seen this flick, and for God's sake...what's all the stupid fuss about?

Christ, you'd think that people expect the world from an indie film - like it was the MOST important thing in their lives, rather than being an escape for a couple of hours. My GOD, man. *beep* get a LIFE!

I've read a few reviews of this film, and it seems hardly anyone gets it. It's a GREAT escape/Armageddon film, done totally low-budget - yet with incredible value - and a first attempt at a film that quite frankly I've never seen in terms of OVERALL quality and talent in the indie world, given so little resources.

Gays from L.A. will hate it. Canadians, they will hate it also. Japanese: They'll LOVE it. Gays from anywhere else will despise it. Young girls: Most will hate it.

But smart people who harken back to the days when a MOVIE was a MOVIE will LOVE IT, every second. That is, even though it was dumped to video from film. One must distribute films to formats people can view, after all.

I'm not sure what you're referring to...most of the reviews I've seen are positive.

I'm also not sure what race and sexual orientation have to do with enjoying a movie.

And who cares who likes it and who doesn't, I just think that if you're going to either praise a movie, or rip it, at least say why. Most people these days say it was horrible and disgraceful, yet give us no indication as to why. Personally, (and obviously) I loved Dead Life for most of the reasons that have already been stated, it has a great "retro" feel to it. And also like what was already said, "fer chrissakes its INDEPENDENT people" These filmmakers are making movies for less than one meal of craft services on a Hollywood production. Anyone can do a remake of a classic, or Japanese horror film these days. The indie filmmakers are the ones with all the ideas, and none of the cash, cut 'em some slack.

Exactly, the problem is though, people think Indie means someone put a million into it. Ha, ha, ha, don't we all wish we had that kind of money to feed our team , and do some full body make-up. Let's see, 100 people (cast/crew/staff) per day, at 30 days and 100 to feed/water is pretty fricking expensive. So, it takes forever to make it, because everyone has to work so they can be part of something. Straight to video, at least it made it, most collect dust.

In regards to the retro feel, it does. Think I've just seen so many horror films, the pycho thriller types are the ones that scare me. These types, I'm too busy checking out the SPFX and process to be creaped out. They are a b1t ch to make, but also fun.

Now if I could get a more elaborate screenplay (http://www.filmloreproductions.com) turned to film on no budget. (Obvious plug there. A girl has to do what she has to.)

As an obsesive horror fanatic, I've seen plenty of STV horror and atleast this one is watchable and in fact, pretty good at times. Especially the middle section of this film. I enjoyed the way it was filmed, the one thing I didn't like was the quick head shaking effect, I just didn't get that, but the music was kick a**. Their is alot of junk out their, and I am fine with it as long as it is "honest" and not misleading like most of the Asylum films I have come across. I dad no problems with Dead Life and you get what it advertises!

I couldn't agree more. I gotta say, this is one of the best moviedebuts i've ever watched since Evil Dead or Dog Soldiers. It's very well filmed, has the right amount of gore, above average actors, a very neat concept, a very cool score etc. This is low budget zombie-filmmaking done right according to me.
