How much of this movie is autobiographical?

I have read enough articles, reviews, snippets, in several languages (babelfish'ed most of the italian ones, especially the old teen idol type of articles) to realize that this movie is partly autobiographical on Kim Rossi Stuart part.
It came up with some defenitive autobiographical facts about this movie:
- The swimming, he swam competitively as a child.
- The school, he filmed in the same school he went to as a child, even the principal was the same.
- He mother abandonned him as a child at the age of four. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v718/buyit/Fotoshootings/?action=view&current=krs31806bbb.jpg

I don't think it's too much autobiographical. Kim Rossi Stuart is son of Giacomo Rossi Stuart, one of the most respected italian stage actors. He grewed up in a well known family, a good economic situation. Maybe he was in conclict with his father but i don't think his childhood was similar to that of the film
